2 Minutes More: Presentations

Shyam AnanthaShyam Anantha

No like seriously just spend 2 more minutes on your ppt and it will look more beautiful. My classmates keep telling me that my ppt looks good and ask which tools I had used, well I answer that as usual: "MS Powerpoint or if it was collaborative in nature then google slides." (which some don’t accept) so here’s the elaborated answer: "I use MS PPT or google slides only but what I do is spend 2 minutes more", let me explain:

It's not that I have some special sauce I mix at the end of a ppt that it tastes like the freaking noodles from Po’s dad in kung fu panda. The thing is I keep the micro perspective in mind. Small details matter, a few important ones include :

  • Keeping the text to a minimum (You are the one who will be explaining it, so explain, why type).
  • Using some kind of icons/images every slide to keep it colorful and not downright boring and dull.
  • Using icons to list and explain bullet points (because lets admit it, a slide full of points is just boring).
  • Maintaining a consistent font type and size throughout the presentation.
